Purely studious and work-oriented the introverted young Adil went into oblivion, cloistered in his world. The boy never believed in love at first sight-again until when he met Mano. It was one of those university lectures where Adil dragged himself to the back row, rather preoccupied with notes. Lively and breezy, Mano was late to get into the classroom. Her sheer presence was feathery, a bright smiling face in between those simply vibrating with energy.
As she walked past Adil's desk looking for space to sit, their eyes met, and it was fleeting. Adil's heart skipped a beat: not love at first sight, but something about her warmth drew him in. No amount of talk about reasonable justification made him forget after he would not stop thinking for days about her. On the other hand, Adil liked Mano without knowing that he was being loved from afar. But she, too, caught the essence of a soothing silence in him, which she savored. Weeks went by.
The two started their little conversations after class. Adil helped Mano complete her assignments, and she would bring him his favorite coffee as a thank you. Gradually, the bond grew. One of those evenings, while they were coming back from the library, Adil gathered courage to speak his heart out. Mano looked at him, surprised but touched. "Adil, I have been feeling the same. I was just waiting for you to come out with it. It was actually from then on that their relationship blossomed. Quiet and profound though, they went through all life events together, their love slowly turning into something not too spectacular that they were supposed to be shouting on the rooftop.
